Boston, MA: Computer Trust Corporation announced today that Coney Island Hospital installed Computer Trust Corporation’s WinSURGE client/server anatomic pathology server. Located in the Brooklyn borough of New York City, Coney Island Hospital is part of New York City Health and Hospitals Corporation.

From a functional standpoint, WinSURGE gave Coney Island Hospital significant incremental benefit over the prior character-based system, specifically: electronic sign-out, graphical reports with gross and microscopic images, voice, automated coding, HIS interfaces, as well as full compatibility and integration with the institution-wide client/server network.

Coney Island Hospital’s Associate Chief of Pathology Dr. Sundara Sridhar offered, "We have been delighted by the exceptional level of product flexibility and user-friendliness of Computer Trust Corporation’s Traditional SURGE software which we have had since 1992. The service and support have been outstanding. We are looking forward to the enhanced capabilities of the WinSURGE software in terms of ease of operation, customized patient reports with easy readability and comprehension, as well as various management reports with enhanced tools such as bar graphs, etc."

Computer Trust Corporation’s president Dr. David Liberman stated, "New York laboratories face the most stringent quality assurance requirements in the nation. This win underscores WinSURGE’s superior work flow and QA flexibility over other leading anatomic pathology systems. With the graphic reports and gross and micro imaging WinSURGE brings to our client, Coney Island Hospital has become one of the most technologically advanced and state-of-the-art laboratories in New York City."

Computer Trust Corporation develops, installs, and supports the WinSURGE family of software products in hospital-based and commercial anatomic pathology laboratories, multi-site AP practices, and PPMs. WinSURGE client/server systems run on Windows NT, Windows 98, and Windows 95. Computer Trust Corporation was incorporated in Massachusetts in 1986 and is privately held.
